I took a foundling child from the orphanage to look after him and bring him up. Is it prescribed for me to offer ‘aqeeqah on his behalf?

We put this question to our shaykh,
‘Abd ar-Rahmaan al-Barraak
(may Allah preserve him) and he replied:

Yes, it is recommended for you to offer
‘aqeeqah on his behalf,
for that will be beneficial and will do no harm. It comes under the heading
of your showing kindness to him, and perhaps it will be a cause of his
becoming righteous.
