What is the ruling on selling my account in a game after reaching a high level in it? I play a game called Boom Beach, which is the name of a military encampment that the player builds. This requires having a precise plan to build it and develop it, and to train the soldiers in it, and in order to reach the levels required, you have to attack other encampments according to a well-thought-out plan, otherwise you will be defeated. I also have to develop my own encampment, so it is like enhancing intellectual and fighting skills. Someone has offered to buy my account in this game, because the account has reached a high level and is well ahead of others. What is the ruling on the money acquired from selling it?

Praise
be to Allah

If the game is free of things that are contrary to Islamic
teaching, such as false beliefs, music and indecent images – and it is
unlikely that this is the case – then there is nothing wrong with playing it
and selling your account in it, because the basic principle is that it is
permissible to sell anything that is permissible and known to be beneficial,
although it is better not to be involved with these games, especially for
anyone past the stage of childhood, because they are a waste of time, which
we have been enjoined to make good use of; moreover, we are contributing to
wasting other people’s time when we sell these games to them.
